| the
band...a brief history |
Josh’s
Dad gave him a 1969 Martin guitar. Jayson told Josh that he could
sing like that dude in Led Zeppelin. Josh and Jayson wrote some
songs. Josh wore a Cure T-shirt. Jake wore a Cure t-shirt. They
had no choice, Josh and Jake became friends. Jake had a purple
mohawk and said he could play a yellow bass. Jake joined the band.
Josh, Jason, and Jake played music at Josh’s parents house.
It was too loud and they were asked to leave. Some drummers tried
out; they were late or drunk or bad. One of them had a mullet.
Josh went camping in the desert. Maurice went camping in the desert.
Maurice had a bongo drum. Maurice joined the band. Josh, Jayson,
Jake, and Maurice called the band Elbo Finn.
Elbo Finn played at
a music fest in Provo and Orem, Utah.
Elbo Finn bought an old untrustworthy
motor home. They went on tour.
They broke down in Las Vegas;
In
Los Angeles;
In San Fransisco;
In Iowa.
They wrote a song about
it and release Reservoirs of Goodness.
Elbo Finn moved to Portland,
Oregon. They wrote a song about it and released SW 58th.
They played
some shows. They played the Olympics. They wrote a song about
it and released a live album: Making Music in Bobsleds.
Elbo Finn
went “on hiatus”. Jake had a kid. Jayson got married.
Josh went to school. Maurice started a business. Josh, Jayson,
and Maurice got back together. They played an ugly tie party. It
was fun. Michael played bass for a band called Six Foot Sam. Six
Foot Sam broke up. Michael played bass for a band called Purusa.
Purusa broke up. Michael had a kick ass beard. Michael joined Elbo
Finn.
Elbo Finn recorded a new album: To My Enemy...Gravity |
